Cherries from Uzbekistan were exported to 16 countries

In Uzbekistan's main cherry production region, this year's marketing season was nearly a month shorter than usual. The spring of 2024 was cold and rainy, which delayed the ripening of many fruits, including cherries, and negatively impacted their quality parameters.

From January to August of this year, Uzbekistan exported 32.2 thousand tons of cherries, generating $70.4 million in revenue.

According to the Statistics Agency, compared to the same period last year, the value of cherry exports increased by $17.5 million.

The main importer was Russia, which received 25.4 thousand tons of cherries. Kazakhstan purchased 3.5 thousand tons, and Kyrgyzstan bought 2.7 thousand tons.

Additionally, Belarus imported 193 tons, the United Arab Emirates 118 tons, China 91 tons, South Korea 28 tons, Malaysia 17.4 tons, and Saudi Arabia 7.1 tons of cherries.
